We were approached by a Client to have their Father repatriation to Cairo, Egypt on Saturday this weekend. The request was to have the Deceased in Cairo for early Tuesday morning for burial. The Deceased was of Christian Faith. On Monday morning by 8.30 we had effected the removal from a hospital in London and our Embalmer was on hand to prepare for the repatriation. In the meantime our Client had registered the death and we had applied for the Out of England. The Coroner issued this within an hour! A car was sent to the Egyptian Embassy to collect their representative so that he could witness the sealing of the coffin and issue the travel permit. What a weekend! As the MD of Mears Repatriation I don't generally get to perform the actual hard work that my Operatives carry out on a day-to-day basis. Lost funeral photo of my Grandad working

So, clearing out some old files this week and found this lovely old photo. I think that this is a photo of my Grandad bearing at a funeral in the 1930's. One in Westminster and one in and around the Clapham area in South West London.
