International Repatriation to Romania

Mears Repatriation offers a comprehensive international repatriation service to Romania. Our all-inclusive price of £2,300.00 is based on a flight into Henri Coandă International Airport, Bucharest but other options are available, please contact us for alternatives.

If an overseas Funeral Director collects the deceased from our premises to return to Romania by road, the total price will be lower.

Local Airports

Suitable Romanian airports with the required customs clearance are Bucharest and Timisoara.

We can now also fly directly to Bacau, Romania from Luton Airport.

Passport of the deceased - An out of date passport is acceptable.
UK death certificate.
Embalming certificate - Mears Repatriation will supply.
Freedom from infection certificate - Mears Repatriation will supply.
Permission to take the person out of the country - Mears Repatriation will apply for this.

A Professional, Flexible Service

We work with all Funeral Directors in Romania, providing a speedy yet professional service. We are usually able to inform you of the flight details within two hours, allowing you to book your own flight tickets on the same flight if desired.

Many of our Clients' appointed Romanian Funeral Directors arrange to collect the Deceased from our premises and transport the remains by road to Romania. We will gladly take instructions from our Client or directly from any Romanian Funeral Director.

If an overseas Funeral Director collects the deceased from our premises to return to Romania by road, the total price will be £950.00.

Sometimes the legal and regulatory complexity of a repatriation can seem a little daunting, so we try to keep things as simple as possible.

We breakdown every element of our pricing so you can see exactly what you are paying for and, should you decide to entrust us with your repatriation, you will be looked after by one named member of our staff throughout. You will also have access to our exclusive Repatriation Progress Tracking tool, making it easy to follow every stage of your loved one's journey to their final place of rest.

We will usually require the Passport of the person who has died. However, if this is not available, please let us know and we can make alternative arrangements.

Special Procedure

In order to have a Romanian death Certificate, when back in Romania, the family will have to produce a British death certificate with the Hague Convention Apostille .

Steven Mears International will arrange to obtain this from The Foreign Office in London.
